Taconic Series Basses

Basses in the Taconic Series are made of all woods that are harvested locally in our beautiful Taconic Mountains.

The large variety of local woods includes sugar maple, red maple, cottonwood, black cherry, white elm, and black walnut for backs and ribs; white pine and red spruce for tops; willow, tulip poplar, aspen, spruce, and basswood for blocks and linings; red maple and sugar maple for necks.

Basses in the Taconic Series include:

  • #1 Black Walnut round back with Red Spruce top and maple neck grafted onto a walnut scroll.

  • #2 Black Walnut flat back with Red Spruce top and Maple neck grafted onto a Walnut scroll.

  • #3 Sugar Maple flat back with Red Spruce top and Maple neck.

  • #4 Sugar Maple round back with Red Spruce top and Maple neck.

  • #7 Piattellini copy. Red Spruce top, Cottonwood back and sides with Sugar Maple neck.

  • #9 Italian 3/4 model. One Piece Eastern White Pine top, Elm back and sides, Sugar Maple neck

  • #10 Domenico Busan copy. Eastern White Pine slab top, Curly Maple back, ribs, and neck.

  • #11 Taconic Swing. Red Spruce top, Cottonwood back and sides, Red Maple neck and scroll.

  • #12 Piattellini copy. Red Spruce top, Cottonwood back and sides, Sugar Maple neck and scroll.

  • #13 Domenico Busan copy. Eastern White Pine slab top and Black Cherry back, sides and scroll (grafted on to a Sugar Maple neck.)

  • #15 Bernardel copy. Red Spruce top, Birdseye Maple back and sides, Sugar Maple neck and scroll.

  • Helen #1 Piattellini copy. Eastern White Pine slab top, Cottonwood back and sides, Sugar Maple neck and scroll.

  • Helen #2 Piattellini copy. Eastern White Pine one piece slab top, Black Cherry back, sides, and scroll (grafted onto a Sugar maple neck.)
